Last night as Blue Rodeo kicked off the first of two sold out shows at Massey Hall, the band was presented with the second-ever Massey Hall Honours Award by by President & CEO of the Corporation of Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Hall, Deane Cameron.
The award celebrates the cultural contributions of great artists and their commitment to performance at Massey Hall. Blue Rodeo have performed at Massey Hall over 30 times and released two live albums from the historic Toronto venue including their most recent release, Live at Massey Hall.
The band released the following statement: “Thanks to Massey Hall and all the folks who work to bring this grand venue to life. We have played at Massey Hall many times and it never loses its thrill. It is always a privilege to stand on the stage of this beautiful hall.”

The Strumbellas are no longer opening for Blue Rodeo in Hamilton on February 13 and Ottawa on February 14. Terra Lightfoot has been added as support on these dates.

Today’s the day! Blue Rodeo’s 25 date cross-Canada tour, kicks off in Thunder Bay at the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium. The band will be accompanied by Terra Lightfoot as they travel west to Victoria and then by the Strumbellas for the east-coast leg which begins on February 11 in Montreal.
